Favorite Photo of 2012

Rock the Shot's photo challenge this month is "Favorite Shot of 2012".  I never usually enter these challenges because it is impossible for me to pick one photo to submit, but yet here I am.  Here is my favorite photo of 2012.

Yes, this picture is a bit personal for me, but I think that is how your best photos are made, by getting personal.  This was taken with my older camera a Nikon D60 and the lighting was just the window light in my bedroom, yet despite all the challenges this photo faced, it remains one of my favorites.

Please stop by Rock the Shot (see link below) and check out all the other amazing photographers and photographs entered this month.  Not to mention Rock the Shot is full of awesome goodies; if you are like me you could loose yourself in that site for hours.  And just because I am me, and can not leave you with just one photo, see all my 2012 favorites below.  (not included in the challenge)

Cake Anyone?!?

This was a dream 1st birthday photo shoot.  My happy nephew, his gorgeous blue eyes, plus awesome light made this particular photo shoot stellar.  There are some pictures where I just can't decide if I like the black and white or the color better...you will have to let me know what you like best.

I love this little guy.  Happy Birthday Beautiful Boy!!

Is it ever too late for Christmas Cheer?

I realize this "Christmas" shoot is a little past due, but as my title says...is it ever too late for Christmas Cheer? I don't think so, and looking at this sweet silly girl certainly cheers me straight to my core.  I LOVE this girl.  Not only is she beautiful and silly and fun but she is one of the wittiest 5 year olds I have met.  This particular day was grey and EXTREMELY cold so we were stuck indoors, but nonetheless got some bright shots despite the winter blues beating on the door.

I have to admit my favorite are the window shots...something draws me to the anticipation feeling you get from looking at these shots.
